Frequently Asked Questions

How long is a session? A standard session lasts 2 hours, though sessions can last anywhere from 30 minutes to 3 hours, depending on the goals of your group. Longer sessions including half-day, full-day, and overnight retreats can be offered in partnership with other outdoor wellness leaders.

Where are these offered? Anywhere! Locations may offer a variety of natural beings (trees, rocks, plants, animals), some type of water feature, safe space to wander, and access to facilities (restroom, drinking water), but these features are not required. Sessions can even be done from the comfort of your home or within a business.

How far will we walk? Forest Bathing sessions typically do not cover much distance, often less than a mile. Physically strenuous terrain is avoided.

What kinds of things will we do? The activities offered are dependent on the place where the session occurs, the weather, time of day and so much more! This makes each Forest Bathing experience unique.

What if it rains or is cold out the day of our session? One of the beautiful things about nature is we never know what to expect! Sessions happen rain, snow, or shine. We will reschedule if it is lightening or storming badly (think hail, strong winds, etc), below -20F, unsafe driving conditions, or if there is a heat warning. We will be in close contact if weather conditions seem unsafe.

Will I be required to participate in all activities? No! Each participant is invited to participate in whatever way is most comfortable, which may be simply observation.

How many people can attend? As long as there is space for the size of the group and all participants can hear the guide, group size can range dramatically. Forest Bathing can even happen with a guide and one participant.

What ages can attend? Forest Bathing is perfect for all ages; it’s ideal to have a group focused on children or families if youngsters (under 12) want to join.

Someone in my group has physical limitations. Can you accommodate this? Absolutely! We will ask about participants’ ages, physical limitations, and allergies when planning the session and can accomodate all abilities.

How far in advance do I need to book a session? Session availability is variable. Typically, sessions can be accommodated within a month

When do sessions typically occur? Because people often have busy lives during the week, sessions typically occur on the weekend. Session time depends on what works best for participants. Sessions can be offered during the week after business hours. Sessions Monday-Friday between the hours of 8am and 5pm might be able to be accomodated with an additional cost to help offset the time off Kati needs to take from her day job :)
